Blind Contour

Perhaps the most unexpected thing we've done this year was the blind contour drawing. All of the memories of the frustrations that we had over them from middle school were quickly rehashed as I began mine this year. It's always frustrating for me, as a perfectionist, to work on something that is incapable of perfection. Since we weren't able to look- of course- even achieving a shape that was recognizably human was an accomplishment. The drawing is comprised of personal statements that shed light on my life and my qualities, and I chose to paint it in a way that encourages the imperfections.
