Our first assignment of the year involved sketching a huge pile of shoes. Thankfully, the smell was less noticeable than expected, and it kicked off the year nicely. It was simple, and familiarized us once again with our drawing materials after a summer of laziness. I'm glad we had the opportunity to become reacquainted with shading and the basics before moving on to more challenging bits.
